Fénix De Los Ingenios is an early music ensemble devoted to Hispanic literature and music. We specialize in Hispanic colonial music but we also project interest in early Spanish literature and music, and their influence abroad in the Spanish and Portuguese colonies. We are an organization affiliated with Early Music America.
About our name...
Our name is taken from the pseudonym of the famous sixteenth century dramatist Lope De Vega (1562-1635) who modestly called himself “El Fénix De Los Ingenios”, which roughly translates into “The best of the ingenious”.
